If you plan your trip during the festive season then certainly don’t miss the enchanting Candlelight Christmas tour. Feel the magic of Christmas at Biltmore. The evening tour illuminates the house with thousands of lights. 

2. Biltmore Estate’s Loop Trail: Captivating Vistas

Embark on an invigorating 8 mile walk through the captivating landscapes of Biltmore Forest. Biltmore Estate’s River Loop Trail is a moderate challenge and may take you around 2 ½ hours to complete.

Whether you prefer hiking, mountain biking, or road biking, this trail accommodates all. Dogs are permitted on the trail as long as they are kept on a leash.

For a truly enchanting journey, plan your visit between January and February.

The Biltmore Estate Loop Trail leads you on an enchanting journey through picturesque landscapes, and delights you with the natural splendor of the French Broad River, the captivating Bass Lake, and the resplendent gardens.

The only catch to this beautiful trail is a significant fee. However, in my opinion, pay it with a smile and make the most of your invigorating workout, as you marvel at the scenic vistas, and the opportunity to connect with nature.

3. Biltmore Winery: Essence of the Blue Ridge

Nestled in the majestic Blue Ridge Mountains of Asheville, Biltmore Winery, is a hidden gem on George Vanderbilt’s sprawling 8,000-acre estate. 

Step into the winery to embark on a journey through a distinguished collection of award-winning reds, whites, and rosés.

It’s a perfect route for cyclists, offering an easy and enjoyable ride. However, it is equally enjoyable and a great workout, if you prefer running, or walking.  

The trail follows both sides of the river. You are likely to see paddle boarders and tubers enjoying themselves on the French Broad River.

After your hike or run, treat yourself to a pint or two of refreshing beer and some delicious food at the Brewery. What a great way to reward yourself after an invigorating workout!

5. New Belgium Brewing Company: Brew with a View

If you are a first time visitor to Asheville, you will want to do the Brewery Tour. But if you are in the  “been there, done that” category, you will still want to visit the New Belgium Brewing Company. 

With a wide selection of delicious beers, this brewery is worth visiting often. 

Set against the stunning backdrop of the French Broad River, the brewpub offers a great view that enhances the drinking and dining experience. 

The service is top-notch too, with friendly and knowledgeable staff going out of their way to keep you happy.

New Belgium Brewing Company sets the bar high for the industry. With its spacious and eco-friendly atmosphere, friendly staff, and tasty beer, it’s a must-visit destination.

6. The North Carolina Arboretum: Nature in Bloom!

The North Carolina Arboretum has captivating gardens and scenic trails showcasing diverse flora, native and non-native, in full bloom. Make the most of a sunny day with a visit to the Arboretum. 

Explore the well-maintained, colorful gardens and enjoy tranquil walks through the woods. Marvel at the quilted garden and the charming miniature train city with bonsai trees. 

The bistro serves delicious food and warm beverages, so you can stay longer if you are having fun. The gift shop offers a delightful experience as well.

Immerse yourself in the beauty of Grovewood Gallery, a haven for art enthusiasts. The vast space showcases an impressive collection of artwork, thoughtfully displayed in various locations. 

Vintage car enthusiasts will fall in love with the Estes-Winn Antique Car Museum, which has a remarkable collection of vintage cars.

Sunset Terrace: Stunning Views

With its breathtaking view and picturesque setting, Sunset Terrace is a dining experience that is hard to beat. It is the kind of restaurant you must come to, at least once, especially if you need to wow someone.

They have a variety of dishes, from shrimp cocktail and wedge salad to porterhouse steak and scallops, on their menu list. 

Seafood such as scallops, shrimps and lobster dishes tend to be quite delicious, but meat dishes often lack moistness and flavor. The dessert selection and cocktails are delightful additions to the meal.

Sunset Terrace is very aware that most of their customers are there primarily for the view and they take great effort to give you a terrific experience.

No wonder the ambiance at Sunset Terrace is top-notch, complementing the stunning views perfectly. The service is impeccable. Pick the right items and your meal should be very satisfying too!
